I wouldnt do it...there are no NA 2by2 kits...you can always make a custom one...

TT motors are on ebay ranging from 2500-3500

The swap is not impossible but it does require some know how

http://ashleypowers.com

He's done it...but he knows alot about the motor and stuff...he did all the work...he puts down over 413rwhp now on stock turbos and intercoolers...but the motor is basically rebuilt

Email him for more specific questions

You might just be better off buying a TT to save the hassle

To much money, to much time, to much trouble!

The best way to make it a Turbo is to swap out EVERYTHING. You have to add all the extras the Turbo Model has and then make major internal Mods to the engine. It's going to cost almost $10,000 to do it right and make it perform like a new TT that will last. If you only want the car for a few days, then you should be able to find the parts on ebay for a few grand. But it won't perfom that well and will breakdown after a few Drag runs. If you're just looking for 1/4 mile times in the 13's, you can Mod you N/A with Intake/ECU/Exhaust/Headers/ and a few other Mods. You'll get the TT power in a lighter Vehicle with no Turbo Lag and No Turbo Probs in the long Run. Heck, add a Dry Nos system and you'll be set.

Yeah man way too much work. Your not just looking at throwing on turbos & an intercooler. It's fuel pump, injectors, lowering the compression, turbos, intercoolers, piping, radiator, ecu, run oil and cooling lines for the turbos...and the list goes on! The suspension has nothing to do with the engine change, but you are correct. The TT models came with a optional suspension upgrade that allowed you to switch from a touring softer suspension to a stiffer sport setting. I am not sure if that was an available option on the N/A??? The TT also had the Super HICAS sytem, which is the all wheel steering we hear so much about. It is nothing special, it would just turn the wheels a degree or two during high speeds to aid in handling. Now you would think...well then what about an engine swap??? Well the sad part is that I believe the two cars had different mounting positions. Plus you would need a place to mount the intercoolers. That could be handled by getting an after market bumper or a TT one. You still would have to do fuel pump, ecu, boost gauges, install the whole damn thing, new hoses, radiator, possiblly all new wires, if they are cut. So, you see it is not all icing on the cake. I know all this because...you can look at my car...It is a 95' N/A. I am in the same boat, that is why I am opting to spend about $5000 on a complete car that should put up 12's...possible 11's. Check out the racing/street racing forum and look for the thread It's Time Forshizzle. That is all about my soon to be drag project. Good Luck buddy! The Z is an easy car to fall in love with!

Well I hope that helps!

just swap out the NA motor for a VG30DETT, in order to TT the NA v6 you have now, you gotta buy 2 of everything freaking thing & pull the motor out anyway.

It's till not that easy! Trust me! You still would have to do fuel pump, ecu, boost gauges, install the whole damn thing, new hoses, radiator, possiblly all new wires, if they are cut, and exhaust (if not already done)! Find a place for the intercoolers and mount them. Still a bunch of bull you have to put up with.

How fast you go is how fast you can spend money. You don't have to use the VG30DETT for a swap. There's other Japanese Motors that will fit. I actually even saw a SuperCharged V-8. It looked funny under the hood but the guy claimed it ran in the 12's before he did any other work, and took it down in the 11's with a few upgrades. But he had to replace the tranny and a bunch of other parts too to make it all work. The best bang for you buck would be to trade you N/A for a nice TT or get a Piece of S--- fixer upper and start from scratch with new parts and a new TT engine. That way you'll have reliablility and the most power from new parts. And with only about $2000 in performance upgrades, you can have 400 HP (about 330 WHP) Then after some Turbo upgrades and other Performace parts, you can easily get it in the 600's.

or get a 240z and drop a v8 in it! :D That's the fastest Z you can get.

Hey Henry,
Have you seen that? V-8 in a 280. If so, could you give more details?

TwinTurbo.net has very comprehensive NA to TT conversion information.

NAs didn't have HICAS as an option nor the adjustable suspension.
TT owners sometimes eliminate the HICAS and upgrade their suspensions thereby eliminating the factory adjustability. I get most of my information from twinturbo.net, those guys have a lot of experience to share about the Z32.
