1. i want to put my PS2 in a safe, stable, and convenient place. I tried the glovebox but its too big to fit. Where can i put it?
2. What can i do if anything to get better radio reception besides having the attenna out all the way?
3. I bought a power inverter but the cord is only like a foot long, i wanted to put it under my seat but the cords too short, it only goes to like my cup holders which wouldn't look good either, can i buy an extension?
4. What powers the headrest monitors? One cord comes off of it and that cord plugs into something but not for power.
5. Can a small Eclipse 2/1 amplifier power my regular speakers without blowing it?

1.) for the ps2, i would say probably the trunk. get some longer rca's to reach the monitors.
2.) whats wrong with putting the antenna all the way out? the other solution is to get a better receiver, buy a better antenna, or just get one of those satellite radio receivers. radio pretty much sucks anywhere, so just stick to cd's like everyone else.
3.) where is the power inverter getting its power from? i say just hook it up to the battery, run the wire to the trunk and plug it into the new home of the ps2 there. if you have an amp back there, you already know how to run power back there, so it shouldnt be too much of a hassle.
4.) i dont know too much about thoselcd screens. you will have to look at it and see if there are any ports or how many pins that one cord has. where did you get the monitors? they should either have some kind of pinout diagram, or you should be able to contact the company and get some from them.
5.) the answer to this depends on how powerful the amp is, and what are the speakers rated for? you should be able to run it if neither of them are shitty, as long as you dont try and blow the speakers, but keep the volume at a reasonable level.

no offense but the trunk isn't exactly the best place to put a ps2. I like that idea though cause then its hidden and out of sunlight but I wouldn't be able to play video games through it and the dvd controls would be hard to pause, play, stop etc...i wanted to put it under the passenger seats but its too big.
the power inverter is hooked up through the cigarette adapter and the most stable spot is when the cup holder cover is down and it sits on top of that.
I have an Eclipse 5/4 channel amp powering a JL 12w0-4 sub and that pounds nice and hard, but on lower levels i'm only getting sound from the door panel speakers and the tweaters. The amp i have doesn't have a switch but i'd like one so i'm not always killing my amp. I don't have the low level quality that i'd like. I was wondering where the other speakers are located at? are the only speakers in a 2 door in the door panels and behind the backseats headrests? If i fade the sound to the rear, the only sound is from the sub.

How on earth are you getting bad reception? With Mt. Wilson practically in our backyards, you should get LA stations almost into Ventura. I get ALL the stations around here perfectly, just some weak local stations (like that new dance station at 103.1 on the FM dial) I get weak because they don't bradcast very much power from their transcevers. I get Power, The Beat, KIIS, and others many cities over, and I keep my antenna only about 3-4 inches sticking out from the roof. ;) if you have bad reception, make sure your antenna wire is securely plugged onto the back of your receiver. Are you using a stock headunit right now, or what kind do you have?

and Matt makes his entrance...
well i pick up most stations pretty well, anything from KZLA to POWER but i can't seem to pick up The Beat or KROQ. Are either one of them weak stations? But that's not my real concerns i guess. If i have my radio at a certain level and then i put a cd in the volume and clarity changes dramatically. My head unit is a Kenwood AM/FM/Mp3/CD player (KDC-MP8017) located in the cubby above the cup holder (i assume its the same in your 2k civic) and then where the unit usually goes i have a flip out monitor that plays its sound through 89.1. But i still have the factory keyless entry and knew that i had to keep the stock radio in order for that to happen and i looked behind the center console behind the cup holders and my radio is still there. I wasn't the first owner of the car and the guy that origally bought it put that Kenwood cd player in along with a sub and an amp in the trunk. All i did was move the head unit down so i could put the monitor in. The monitor came with a tuner and FM modulator so would it be weaker than what i already had in there now giving me static sound sometimes?

its pretty simple to do the power inverter... the input power ..of the inverter is.. 12v.. basicly ur car battery.. .. all u have to do .. is to cut the cigarette adapter .. off.. one side of the wire should have the white strip.. that should be positive and .. the other on is ground .. and jus hook it up.. to either ur battery or the fuse box under ur .. driver side.. .. i would recomend the .. battery bc u need a preety big.. gauge of wire to make the inverter work properly.. about mounting the ps2... try to make a .. brace out of metal and screww it in under ur glove.. ... the monitor .. has only one out put plug.. take means the other plug has to have a signal inverter.. so u should have a seperte cord that plugs into the montior and the seperate cord should have a red wire for power,,black for ground and a yellow rca cord for ur video feed.. but if u dont have that.. then u would need to gets som pix posted to we can see wut u is talkin bout .. hope that helps .. but thatz my 2 sents.. heheh :smoker:

you could always tap into the line that your amp is getting power from, or straight from the amp and attach it to your amp's ground. just buy your own wire and make it an extention to anywhere you want in your car.

The reciever differance shouldn't be that dramatic, unless the tuner in the monitor is really crappy. I'll give you that KROQ can be a bit weak in places at times (if you're further north of Washington bl. in Pasadena) then you won't get KROQ at all, only because at that point your out of the line of sight of pretty much all the big radio towers on Mt. Wilson. The Beat is a powerful station, should be just as powerful as Power 106. There's a way you can work around the whole keyless thing and get rid of your stock radio. I think your current setup might be what's causing the random static. I'm off to work shortly, but thorw up a reminder in here or in a PM to me to look up that info for you on that. :)

1)what about putting it vertically on the part thats raised behind the middle arm rest.
2)You can put an antenna booster on the end of it. Get the good one that's used in the military.
3)Yeah

i've looked everywhere for an extension for my cigarette lighter but can't find one. I've put my PS2 halfway under the passenger's seat but its still a little big so the seats can't go all the way back. And thank's, i'll look into the antenna booster but i don't think i need one anymore.

don't plug the inverter into the cigarette lighter ... can we say ghetto ?
just cut the plug off and lengthen the wires
Where to put it ? ... I would have to sit in the car for a while
the way the antenna is designed, it isn't gonna pick up too good unless it is fully extended, not much of a way around that.
Something is powering the monitor, if there is only one cord going to it, the power and gnd wires pretty much have to be in there.
