problem is that hood cannot be released by pulling latch in cabin, because it's too loose. i can see hood release moves but not enough to let the hood free.
is there any way to shorten the hood release linkage?
i unbolted the latch assembly and removed the linkage from it, but plastic casing is tightened firmly leaving not much of bare linkage, so i guess cannot shorten it from this side.
how do i shorten it on the hood/grille end side? there seem to be a piece of metal clipped on the end - can i move it ?
thanks for ideas.

If you look at the cable near the latch under the hood you will see a metal stopper at the end. Perhaps try to use weights used in fishing to add more stop metal to the cable. In other words, add a weight right next to the end stopper. If one doesn't work, try two. Let me know if it works.

still looking for a local store selling those. might need to visit Walmarts, i've seen fishing stuff over there.
