98 Mustang Battery Drain When I Hit My Brakes

I have a 1998 Mustang Gt convertible. When I hit my brakes the battery gauge goes down and my lights dim. Anyone know what could be causing this. It only happens when I hit my brakes. Once I accelerate the gauge goes back to normal.
