Secondary AIR Pump Relay Question

Any help is extremely appreciated!

I've been searching for awhile now, and have not been able to find any information about this...

My 99 Chevy s10 blazer failed emissions the other day. Cause: Secondary AIR. I went out and bought the new AIR pump, and installed it. The old one had water in it, and didn't seem to want to spin. Slightly melted. I had the girlfriend start the engine, but the pump never kicked on... I'm guessing because I was driving it for awhile, and the engine was not cold?

I checked the big 30 amp fuse beside the battery, and also the small 10 amp fuse, and they were both fine...now the main question... where is the relay at? I noticed that right beside the fuses, was another black cap. I popped that off, but nothing was underneath. It looked like something should go there (2 female inserts), but nothing installed. Is the Relay missing? Is that why it's not working? lol.

Does anyone know the part number for this relay? I'm having a hard time finding info!! :banghead:

Thanks for the help guys!

What engine?
The relay is right side engine compartment behind horn.
Old relay should have a no on it or parts place should have the no or replacement.

4.3L SFI 6cyl.

....I saw the fuses, and the area around the horn. Is this relay covered by a case or something? How many prongs are on this relay?

Prongs not sure.
Pick up a new on and look at it.
Most are small square relays.
Relay has 4 wires to it.
Pink
Red fused power to it.
Brown
And red power to air pump.

The part no should be on old relay.
Or call your GM parts dealer with vin no for OEM relay.
They may even able to print you out a picture on where it is at.
Good Luck

Got it fixed...check engine light is gone! :-) :-) :-):smokin:

It wasn't the relay after all. It was that 30 amp giant fuse. At first glance I thought it was fine, but after testing it with a multi-meter, it proved bad. Put the new fuse in and wa-lah. I could hear the pump start up with the engine, run for a short period, and then shut off. The check engine light went off right away too!

Thanks again!

You are welcome.
Good find.
And yes always check fuses for power on both side.
