It gets a little complicated. There is no adjustment on these per se. You have to get the lifter at the bottom of it's stroke and BLEED IT DOWN, then check the gap between the rocker arm and the valve stem. My Haynes manual shows the gap should be between .091 and .151. If it doesn't fall between there, you have to purchase either longer or shorter push rods. In your case probably longer. I suggest you buy a manual.

This is correct for the early'70's through 80's 302 with the pedestal-type rocker arms.
The late '60's through early -70's 302 used adjustable ball-type rocker arms (on studs) like a small-block Chevy.
With these, one tightens the rocker arm, while turning the pushrod. When there is just the slightest drag on the pushrod, one then turns the rocker arm nut another 1/2 turn, then it's set.

Yes. Between 91/1000ths of an inch and 151/1000ths of an inch.

If you have to get new pushrods, consider getting the adjustible kind.

I have always adjusted these by rotating the engine until the push rod I am working on is as low as it will go and then adjusting the rocker so that it is just barely loose, once they are all set up I start the engine and let it warm up then make minor adjustments until everything stops clicking.
