Hi, i JUST today bought a 92 rodeo what I'm guessing is the "S" model, though there are no markings on or in the car, i only know it has manual EVERYTHING, i dont really mind it gives it character lol but it has a few problems.
1: it needs engine mounts BAD, wen you watch it run it shakes like CRAZY inside the engine bay and i wanted to know how hard though's would be to change if i wanted to do it myself.
2: is that im not sure if it needs a clutch or not, but what is the normal "bite point" for a rodeo clutch? mine seems to be right up at the very front of the pedal, now the reason im not sure if it needs a clutch or not is because i can engage a gear from that bite point, i dont need to put it all the way to the floor, and two is that.... the reason i think the clutch might be bad is... the car won't move even a little bit unless im with in like MM's of the bite point, yet, i can shift with out hard using any of the clutch, thous my confusion, the clutch is sending me mixed signals :banghead: lol
Thanks for any help guys :)

Engine mounts aren't hard to replace. You'll will need some way to raise the engine a little bit to get the old mounts out. (engine hoist preferably but a floor jack and a piece of 2x6 will do) As for the clutch, try this: put your rodeo in 3rd gear and try to drive off. You'll prob have to feather the clutch a little but if you are able to drive off without the clutch slipping, then it's good.

Need to treat the cause, not the symptoms. The engine should not shake around that much, you might have a misfire at low rpm caused by bad plugs or ignition components.

Hey thanks guys, i'll try the 3rd gear take off next time i have it running (battery's dead, jumped it to get it home :P ) as for the engine my boss (ex-mechanic) said the same thing, sounds more like a miss-fire off setting the balance of the engine. This sunday i should have some time to trouble shoot the engine, maybe a trip to autozone for a tune up is in order ^^
Anyway thank you guys, i'll jump back on here wen i know more specifically whats wrong with the car. thanks again ^^

Hey, im back to bug you guys again, i was going to change the fuel filter today and put some high grade gas in it with some injector cleaner to see if that'll help (gas thats in it is about a month old now) but im kind of at a loss as to how to go about his now lol because i've read a tut on changing the fuel filter and it says that it's under the passenger side door and i just dont see the damn thing, to boot it says i need to cut the line? WTF? anyway, some help would be great, as i would like to have the car streetable by next week and it doesn't seem like the world is making that easy on me T.T
