I'm starting on a 67' Mustang GT and figured I would do a WIP on it since it's an important model to me.
Story Here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=968663

Here's the car I'm making
http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s32/mustangemd19/mustang-1.jpg

I will be purchasing a trans-kit from Motor City Resin soon.
http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s32/mustangemd19/67MustingGT.jpg

but for now I'm working on the donor car. AMT 67' fast back. From this car I am taking the chassis, most of the interior, motor, wheels, etc.

Wheels (not exactly like the real ones, but close enough)

Interior (have to wait for the trans-kit for the door panels)

I plan on putting seat belts, just need to buy them.

More to come in the next week.
Thanks for looking, Coments/Suggestions welcom. :)

Those magnum wheels are quite common in most everyone's parts boxes with better tires than what AMT provided you in that kit. Just post up a "wanted" ad in the classified and people will help you out. If I had access to my parts bin, I'd give you the hookup, for the price of postage, but it would take me a year to dig out my parts bin.

The motor isn't suppose to look "perfect" Im trying to give it a little bit of a roughed up look.

The project will be delayed for a while. :banghead:

I placed my order for the '67 trans-kit from Motor City Resin tonight, but soon after, I recieved an E-mail from the owner saying he has had alot of orders for that model and needs to re-cast more of them.
Also said it could be several weeks for my order to be sent. May not even be here before Christmas.

This sucks since its suppose to be a Christmas present for my brother. :(
I guess he will just have to take it late.

I ordered the Stock transkit but Jeff answered that it will take 2 to 3 weeks to cast it (+ 2 to 3 weeks to receive it here in Europe  )

/\ I'm using photobucket, never had any problems with it before. If anyone else is having the same problem let me know.

I painted thebody this weekend. now I have to paint all the chrome peices etc. It's a hard color to photograph but its a dark green. Fathom Green.

Looks nice, maybe instead of paint try using baremetalfoil thats found in most local hobby stores. Little harder to work with, but results are great. And if you mess up you can always take it off, with paint you have to strip it. Your choice, also theres a tutorial here on af.

I may try that. I have been having a hell of a time with this model the past 2 days. :banghead:

I started on painting the trim, and when I pulled off masking tape on the rear window some of the clear coat came off with it! Not sure why this happened.
After this happend I put another coat of clear and when it dried I got back to work painting. It was looking great and I was almost done with the front window trim when I accidentally hit the side of the car with my brush. :crying: So mad at myself for this!!!

About an hour ago I re-painted the side I messed up and waiting for it to dry. Hopefully it will turn out ok. Im considering stripping the paint and re doing it if it doesn't come out right.

It would be this model to give me such trouble. Never had problems like this!

Decided not to use the bmf. Never used it before and I figured I would stick to what I know.

Anyways... I ended up re-painting it, got the trim painted, put on a few decals, and got the holes cut for the hood pins (recieved in mail today) and antenna. No pics yet, but I will post some when I get done with the body.

Im so ready for this model to be done with. I swear it hates me!:shakehead lol, Just wondering what else is going to go wrong with it.

New pics: figured I wouldn't make you guys wait for it to be completed.
All thats left to do is finish the decals, paint/install the bumpers, install lights, windshields, hood pins, and antenna.
