Future Polish Help?

Hi all, i have a question about Future Floor Polish:

I have used it successfully on the past few models I have built. I apply it with a cotton ball, that method has worked best for me. I get great gloss after 4-5 coats. My question is, can I polish this stuff?

I find its self-leveling properties help to smooth things out, but sometimes there is still minor orange peel, even with the future on top. Does sanding with 2000-3000 grit paper (that's equivalent to 8000 micromesh) and then using scratch-x work on Future Polish, or am I wasting my time??

I love Future although it occasionally cracks and most people here favors 2-part clear. It self-levels, does no harm to decal and dries to a hard surface. Just a healthier alternative. I usually spray Future without dilution and allows it to dry completely for 2 weeks (depending on the humidity). You can polish Future in the same way as with lacquer paints. I wet sand it with 1500 and 2000 paper. I then polish the surface with Tamiya compound and wax.

It has it's uses, but it is what it is, a sealer for floors. It was never intended as a serious clear for models, but I have used it myself on the odd project, or for glossing up decals when I didn't want to clear a whole model and it's pretty good for that purpose. You can lightly sand it when it's dry and it polishes with rubbing compounds pretty well, so you wouldn't be wasting your time, although I personally think a proper hobby clear or automotive type clear would yield far better results for less effort...

If your paint has orange peel Future will not hide it. If you sand it you have to do it dry with no water. The best thing I have found to rub it out abd enhance the shine is Zymol brand wax. Other waxes tend to remove the Future. The wax deepens and enhances the gloss to good effect. Try using the circular disposable type makeup remover pads to apply it. Always remember you can remove it with ammonia or Windex and start over. I like it and get results with the wax over it. It's cheap and it is safer over decals.
