Need suggestions 97 Rav4 driverside axle removal?????

I need to get the axle out, so I can replace a leaky seal. I've put a 5lb slide hammer with 3 jaw puller attached on it . I've slide the anvil pretty hard, it still won't come out. I've heard these things can be a pain to get out , But I"ve never had one this hard to get out. :banghead:
