Engine Oil Leak

I just found my engine oil leak after my Lincoln LS 2004 V6 3.0 received Cylinder 2 Misfire error. I posted "Lincoln LS 2004 V6 Cynlinder 2 misfire" in this forum couple days ago, and got very good response and suggestion.

The engine leak is in the bottom of engine. Someone told me it is the engine bottom gasket leak. It needs to be replaced, and the engine needs to be taken out to replace. If the engine needs to be taken out for replace the engine bottom gasket, it will be very expensive!.

I read some of this forum leak posts, and do not see too many posts about the engine leak. So I guess the engine leak is not a popular problem for Lincoln LS. Does anything have experience with repair engine leak?

We had an oil pan gasket leak on my wife's 2002 when she bought it used. The dealer fixed it under warranty. They only needed the car for part of a day so I don't think they dropped the engine but I'm not sure. I agree with your assessment that it's not a common issue.

I would suspect bad oil services, befor an engine oil pan gasket!

1) Check your oil for shortage.
2) If short, see how much oil is being lost.
3) Supervise you next oil change, and get a new seal for the drain plug.
4) Make sure nobody cross threaded your drain plug.
5) Have the oil on your drain pan cleaned with a spray break cleaner.

Caution- make sure, the oil drain plug isn't cross threaded.
