Porsche 917K Daytona 1970

1970 in Daytona 24h race happened something remarkable in Finnish racing history, it was the first time that finnish driver wins proffessional race. In winning car number 2 had two driver, mexican Pedro Rodriguez and finnish Leo Kinnunen.
I built this car to look like it has 24h of racing behind. This is Fujimi 1971 Daytona winner kit and i did some modifications to it, biggest was engine and exhaust modifications.

This was the first time that i did not buy any book for information and same time the last. It is real hard to find a good photos with right information, that´s why i make some mistakes in building this car.

Great weathering on this model, it looks very realistic.

It didn´t, sorry my mistake! Correct maker is Fujimi.

The weathering is spot on, beautiful job. Im really digging the front broken headlight lense. Looks so real. :thumbsup:

Yes man, I also like this weathered 917K.
I weather also my own cars most of the time.

There is a simple reason, there wasn´t outside mirrors in these cars. Only mirror was in the cocpit. Later came periscope mirror on the roof.
