Hey all, My jimmy wont start, I have a new battery fully charged.
When I turn the key all lights come on, I hear the fuel pump doing its thing
but nothing when I roll to the start position, No Clicks no lug no nothing.
I tried to mess with the shifter to no avail I am at a loss here.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

97 is a bad year on ign switches.
What engine and transmission.
Is the starter getting 12 volt start signal on purple wire to starter solenoid?
That signal has to come from ign key in start position and go threw neutral saftey switch and start fuse and starter relay.
To check starter.
I would start by jumping 12 volts to starter purple solenoid wire.
Does that fire up the starter?

I tried to get voltage to the solonoid (tight fit) there are three terminals nothing purple.
There is two big lugs and a small one all black wires.
I assume the purple is the smaller of the wires.
I put a test light on the smaller wire and got nothing when the wife tried to roll it over.
I then remembered my old way of starting the shovelhead when the switch/button went bad, I jumped between the two larger lugs... nothing
sparked ok but no turning over nada from the starter. So I am a loss to what to try next.
Any advice?
Thanks again
Ps. Looking thu the flap behind the wheel, If you can picture a delta or triangle
At the top is the smaller wire and at the two base parts there are bigger wires..

If starter will not crank jumping at solenoid your starter is bad or no battery power to it.

Starter solenoid start wire should be a purple wire.
