I took these pics last year the night before the Cherokee Trails Rally in Tennessee. This rally series is being monitored by the WRC as a precursor to a possible U.S. WRC event. What you are seeing is the reflective decals light up due to the camera flash, these are unretouched photos.

Yes I like the 'Dark Dog' look too, although the original '99 Blue on White lion car is still the best!

Thanks, but I am still trying to find one of Didier in the Subaru.....I can find one of him posing for a press photo in his SWRT overalls.....that's all.

I also just heard on tv that a mini not only won Monte, but (getting slightly off topic here) also the 1996 Bathurst race. Anyone got morer info on that? Pics maybe?

The RS200 never won a championship for Ford except one:

The International Belgian Championship in 1986 in the hands of Robert Droogmans, winning it against a Lancia 037, a Metro 4R6 and a Manta 400! :eek:

The pic of the RS200 is quite a tricky one, it seems as if the driver is losing control, the car is sliding towards the camera!!!

The RS200 was a very nasty piece of kit to drive. I think it was in Portugal 1986 when a local rally driver went off in an RS200 and killed some spectators in doing so :( After that fatal accident, together with the loss of Henri Toivonen earlier during the Corsica Rally, it was decided to ban the gr.B monsters forever. From 1987 only gr.A cars were allowed until the more recent introduction of WRC's.

Hm but theoretically, now, a group A could still be competing , along the WRC 's , no ?

Practically they wouldn't stand a fair chance, because for group a a minimum of homologated cars for the road do have to be made , or am I wrong ?

OK so here we go. I thought I broaden up the subject a bit and decided to share the armada of Belga sponsored cars. Belga is a ciggi brand in Belgium and I think it's only sold in Belgium. So probably most of you won't recognize this. But anyway, their main driver was Robert Droogmans, who lives only a couple of km's away, so you can say I was a fan in those days. Occasionaly the had a second car or a driver for the occasion. They gave up sponsoring at the end of the '80s.
