Passlock 1 Bypass

I was trying to fix a Passlock 1 (on a 98 Cavalier Z24) issue for a friend of mine, and I was coming across some seemingly inexplicable issues.
To bypass the passlock 1 (during a remote start) I was going to use a resistor and a SPDT Bosch relay. I cut the yellow passlock wire, hooked my multimeter from the key side of the yellow wire to the black wire and attempted to start the car. I got a value of 785 Ohms (numerous times). I hooked the 85 and 86 wires of the relay to energize when the remote start was initiated (using the Ground when running wire). Then I hooked the PCM side of the yellow passlock wire to 30 on the relay, then I had 790 ohms of resistors hooked from the 87 wire (Normally Open to 30) to the black passlock wire (ground). Then I hooked the 87A wire (Normally Closed to 30) to the key side of the yellow wire. It started fine with the key, however, it would never start properly with the remote start. I tampered with the resistances, and tested the resistance from between the yellow and black passlock wires numerous times, all with the exact same reading. Also, I wired another relay to provide ground to the bulb test wire during a remote start. Am I doing something wrong? I can't seem to think of what could be causing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problem #1 is that 785 is not equal to 790. There is a line where "x" will work, but "x+1" will not. You may be over that line.
Problem #2 is that when you begin the remote start, the relay energizes when you start cranking. I believe the PCM must see the correct resistance before you start cranking.

I would personally pull those relays out and bypass it permanently... probably not a lot of thieves looking for a '98 Cavalier.. Even if you do get it to work with the relays, you have a convenient little package for a potential thief... if he knows how to bypass a relay he can steal the car anyway.

Here's where I started losing my mind. I took a couple different values of resistors, some within an ohm or 2, and tied one end to the black Passlock wire, and the other end to the PCM side of the Yellow wire. Then I turned the key forward (to ignition) for a good 10 minutes (probably closer to 20 minutes), and it wouldn't start. I tried and tried, then gave up for the evening. The only issue I can see is that I am not getting the correct resistance reading. Am I doing it right if I cut the yellow wire, attach my multimeter from the black wire to the Keys side of the yellow wire and then attempt to start the car?
Also, I believe the ground when running wire is active before the remote start attempts to start. This Ground when running wire is used to activate proper interface modules as well. However, I will test to ensure.
