Srs

I recently got a notice from Honda that I needed to bring the civic in for an air bag replacement. I took it in and since I have the SRS light on. I went down Friday and talked with honda and they say that what they did has nothing to do with the SRS light being on. Is this true or are they pulliing my leg? They told me that it would cost me $99 to check it out but if it was something they did there would be no charge. I made an appointment but feel like I am going to out $99. All I will have is their word on what they done. Any Advice?

They probably already know what the code is at this point, SRS failures seem to be common on this generation I had a 7-2 SRS code on my 05 at 50k miles and had a huge battle with AH and ended up paying 50/50 on the SRS control module replacement and $90 for them to take 30 seconds for the dealer to read the code.

They are supposed to cover the belts and IIRC the buckles for life in the US. If it is related to one of those you may be covered ( I was told by my dealership there would also be no diag fee if it was belt related)

Until you get the code read it will be hard to say for sure, normal OBDII code reader will not read SRS codes to the best of my knowledge.
