Lemans 406 nitrous

I have a pontiac 406 freshly rebuilt. Stock crank and rods with speed pro forged aluminum pistons. Will be going with a mild cam. 6x-8 heads, holley 750 carb. How much nitrous could i run on this setup safely?

Stock rods? IMO, ZERO nitrous. Those rods are a blown engine looking for a place to explode. Forged rods are ALWAYS advised by ANY knowledgeable Pontiac builder. Cheap insurance...

That's what I was thinking. The vast majority of automotive engines out there use forged connecting rods, for lightness and strength. The Pontiac V8 uses cast rods, which are considerably weaker and/or heavier.
FWIW all other GM engines for decades have used forged rods. Pontiac used cast rods to control manufacturing costs (in all except a few high performance engines), but this created a critical weakness for extreme performance applications.
