Headlights & Dome Lights

I was driving home from work the other night going 50 (the speed limit) on a back road that is full of twists,turns, and NO shoulders. Then my headlights and dash lights WENT OFF! I stopped the van (after going into the ditch a bit).. I switched the lights over and used the dome light to check my speed the rest of the way home. What could have caused this? A blown fuse, a short?

Interesting. I once had a thought that the dash lights were blinking but I thought that it was just me tired. I think the headlights went down too in that moment.

I would also like to know what causes this problem that GirlLovesCamo have.
