Instrument lights not automatically turning on when headlights automatically turn on

My 95 roadmaster has developed a problem. When the light sensor determines it is dark, the headlights automatically turn on. However, when this occurs the instrument panel lights do not turn on.

If I turn on the headlights manually (by pulling the lamp knob out one knotch) the instrument panel lights do turn on.

Perhaps related, perhaps not... When I manually turn on the headlights, the left turn signal indicator on the instrument panel remains lighted. It does flash, however, if I use the left turn signal.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the headlight switch is bad. You can get to the switch by pulling the fuse panel cover on the side of the dash.

I have owned 4 roadmaster's, two of them had this problem. It is on a small circuit board down in the kick panel on right side. The circuit board will have a cold solder joint on one of relay leads, just fix it with a soldering iron.
