buy a nonturbo mr2 (mkII) and bust an engine swap?

and i was just wondering...

I'm on a tight budget, but i don't want a shit car, and i think the mr2 is a great car (although not my dream car). Therefore, i want to know if i'm missing something important. It doesn't seem to make sense. A cheap mkII mr2 runs for about 2-3000, and to buy an engine would be 2500? and i'ce got friends to help me out, so counting out labor (or minimal charge) wouldn't this be a better idea?

#1 as you pointed out, you can buy an NA and stick a 3sgte in it usualyl cheaper than you could uy the turbo MR2

#2 is the insurance discount if you are NOT honest about telling them that you did the swap.

The things you miss out on are covered on the thread you started on the MR2 baord.
