Loudest mufflers or resonators

I have a 94 caprice with a 5.7 with flowmaster delta 40 series mufflers. it sounds pretty good but my best friend who recently bought a 95 camaro z28 with a 5.7 just put and SLP loudmouth exhaust on his car and it is so much louder it is unreal. The resonator he has (called the Loudmouth) is from SLP and it is literally straight through. I was thinking about putting 2 of them on my car or maybe getting cherrybombs or glasspacks. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you thought about replacing the cats with high flow cats?
Those with the flowmasters should be plenty loud.
You could also go with a 2 chamber flowmaster, I think the delta series has 3 chambers which make it a bit quiter.
I don't see how resonators will make your car louder :grinno:

The stock resonators are straight through.

The stock pipes are so restrictive a lot of guys used to actually just do a muffler delete. The crappy restrictive pipes still quiet it some.

what if i was to hollow out the catalatic converters that i have. what difference would that make?

i have a set of summit glasspacks 2 "1/2" mufflers 24" long with 3" tips i got cataylic convertor taken off on my 1990 caprice 305 engine very loud with a deep tone will be heard around the block

Most guys who hollow out the cats hate the sound. Describe it an "tinny".
