My driver's seat no longer raises or lowers when i flick the switch. This is not a big deal for me, but my wife can barely touch the pedals with her feet because the seat is up too high. ANyone know the best way to fix this?

check fuse, test switch for continuity, check for battery voltage at the switch terminals if you see battery voltage then seat motor is bad or something is jammed (ex: coins etc.)

How do i test this stuff? i'm not a mechanic... just someone who doesn't know much about cars.

do you have a dvom? digital volt/ohm meter?

open fuse box and start reading next to each fuse should be a number, find in the list of numbers anything that mentions seat motor or seats, find that fuse number in the fuse box, pull the fuse out and you will see "S" shape link inside that connects both terminals of the fuse. If that link is cut fuse is bad. Replace with the same Amperage. For continuity check most likely you never heard of before and if you don't have dvom it is going to be hard to test it. There are other ways to test it but you have to know basics to get into it.
