The OD Off light is flashing and has no power when taking off in D. If I shift into 2nd gear the truck takes off then I shift to D and it's ok. Any ideas of what maybe wrong?
Thanks

You need to have the codes read. The flashing light indicates thare is an electrical problem somewhere in the system. Some scan tools may not be able to read the transmission codes. So you may have to search around. I would try Autozone/Pep boys/ Advance to see if they can read the codes first. If they have a code, post the exact code number here so we can help further.

Here are the transmission codes: 743, 750, 755, 1747, 1754, & 1760.
I also have 141 & 161 O2 sensors.
I spoke to someone who says all those codes mean I have either a blown fuse or the harness for the transmission has a broken or shorted out wire. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks.

The codes for the O2 sensors could be related. I would check external wiring on the drivers side going to the sensors also.

Thanks for all the replies. I have an update maybe this will help.
I found (fuse 24 15A* Powertrain Control Module, Automatic
Transmission, CMS Sensor) in the power distribution box blown. Anyone have an idea what this goes to?

You probably found the problem. But there was something that caused the fuse to blow. That is where the work is going to come in. It controls the Trans. Fluid Temp, Torque Converter Clutch, Electronic Pressure Control and the Shift solenoids in the transmission.

I removed the blown fuse and ohmed out each connector and no short was detected. I then installed a new fuse and so far the tranny is fine. Maybe I need to do a fluid and filter change on the tranny?
I hope this is good now.
Thanks for all your help.

Anyone knows what type of transmission fluid to use in the 1999 expedition eb 5.4l engine w/4x4?
