replaced egr and now.....2003 protege

hey all, Igot the dreaded check engine light the other day and the suddering all that usually comes with a carbon build up. I changed the valve, removed the little carbon that was there which wasent very much. put it all back together and now the check engine light is gone but the car just dies. I start it up the rpms go up and down and them she dies. if anyone has any sugestions id really appreciate it.

It sounds like you created a vacuum leak. Check to be sure everything is reconnected properly.
