97 F250HD - Wiring rear bumper lights

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted here last. Anyways, I got a rear bumper off of a 94 F150 and put it on my truck because the one on it when I purchased it was rusted so much, the license plate lights would not stay in. Now, the bumper is on and fits great. However, the lights from the original bumper only had one wire coming from each socket. The new lights now have two wires (power and ground, naturally), however I can't seem to get them working. I've tried wiring them a number of different ways to no success. Any tips, wiring diagrams? Thanks ahead of time.

hook one wire to power and the other to ground, switch em if it doesn't work? Make sure it is a good clean ground.
