Hello everyone
I am working on this project, is my first one so be gentile, I used to work on models when I was to young to actually learn anything so I am picking up as much as possible from this forum. I already had done the engine and glued all together so on this one there will be not a lot of extras detailing, so far has been all hand brushed so be kind with me. Any suggestions are very welcome. I have been PMing Rocca a lot and he has been helping me with a lot of suggestions, thanks you very much.
So here is were I stand right now. I can't figure out how to add the PICS directly from photobucket,, haha, I figure it out, lol.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/AMGecko/004-1.jpg
Then I started with body parts, first I primed white then painted white and then added 1 coat of clear before I add the decals. Camera sucks so this is the best I can show right now. Of course I added the extra holes for the screws, there was only 1 originally that came to the top part of the body to attach with the bottom part, the other 2 on each side were fake, so I did some drilling and sanding before,

Welcome by the way!
Thanks Joel, feel free to tell me what I can do to make adjustment if you think some could be usefull here, you are one of the master here and I look after your threads. This is pretty much the only bike with no front fork, very cool, I tried to suggest Tamiya to make the 3D as well, I think everyone will be very interested in it, will show details on engine, plenty of CF parts and very cool mechanic for the front wheel turning.
This is the 3D

Master, huh?! Thanks for that Al, although I don't think I am one. What I am is one of the inventories ;-) I read your hello-thread and how something opened up when finding these forums, I agree that this is the key to become better. And I guess aftermarket parts for bikes was non-existant when you were younger, just the last couple of years that there has been a flood.
Think it is almost impossible to convince Tamiya of doing such bike. GP and the large cc bikes (Hayabusa, ZX1400 etc) seems to be the selling objects in the global view.
For your present build it seems really good so far, hope you'll stay among us and build more bikes after this one is finished!

Yes, I am learning a lot by just whatching what you all guys are doing. Yes, when I started there was absolutely no aftermarket parts at all, lol.

To bad, there are some other very cool bikes other then the GP ones.

I hope so to, I do have another one to work on after this, I want to build a few before I try for the harder ones.
I do need some help with my build here, my decals are very bad and I put it by the window in the sun for a while but they are not getting better, they are all wrinkly now. So I was thinking of changing the bike from this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/AMGecko/800px-Bimota_Tesi_1D_SR.jpg
to this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/AMGecko/tesi-1dred.jpg
The problem would be how can I get those few bimota decals, can someone custom make them? I would need very few, the bimota ones and the pirelli. Also I was thinking of finding the wheels similar to the one in the PIC with the whole red bike but the problem is that will be almost impossible to find them as the front wheel is completely different then most bikes as it has all the turning system inside the wheel, I can keep it with original tires. Any suggestions?

One more question for you guys, I want to enhance the welding on the pipes, I have seen it done with a needle here and looks awesome, I tried already with a few but the putty doesn't come out right, is there a special needle I need to get? Do I need to dilute the putty a bit, if yes with what? I am using the tamiya basic tipe putty, thanks for the help.

For the decals you can certainly get someone to do them for you, I guess the bimota marking can be found somewhere. Basics are you'll have to get a logo that's based on vectors rather than pixels, so that you can making it larger or smaller without destroying the image quality. The site www.brandsoftheworld.com are usually a good start when searching for logotypes.
Next is that the desktop printers don't print white, wich causes trouble for you. You're going to need an Alps printer. The Alps printers can do just that.
Another idea is to print the decals using the technique mentioned on roca:s site, that you print an area with the surrounding red color instead of printing the white. But then you need to get the exakt type of red.
Take a look here (http://www.rocascalemotorcycles.com/fotostutoriales/tutocreacalcaseng.htm).
I have never tried the syringe technique so I can't help you there.

I do not think I have the printer I need and the skills yet, lol, if someone can help me I will pay for the cost of making and shipping to me. Is pretty much 2 size white bimota sign for each side, 1 tesi 1d for each side and 2 pirelli size for the body and the front arm for both side.

Also a few updates, got my putty finally from HK, filling the front and back wheel arm, got to wait for my AS 12 spray to color them, after I sand them out I will prime them and wait for the color to come. Also I am working on the brake disk.

You don't need a super printer to make decals, just take a look at here http://www.micromark.com/ you will find material for make your own decals and if I'm not wrong that site is from USA.

Good work so far.
For making some welds, I always use stretched sprue. Just heat some sprue and pull it untill you have the thickness you are looking for. Then you have to glue this on the piece were you want to make the weld. After this you have to smear some humbrol or tamiya glue on it to make it softer. And when it is softend you can use the back of a scalpel or toothpick to push on this sprue to make the pattern.
I hope this makes some sense to you.
Good luck.

As a sprue you mean the plastic that holds all the pieces of the model? Wow, that doesn't sound very easy, I did see someone making it with a sirynge and putty, it looked very realistic and not that difficult, I will try your method as well, but the plastic seams to get on fire as soon as I put it on the candle, lol.
Also thanks for the suggestions on the decals, I am not sure I will be able to make it right but I will try, I did order some white and clear decal papers already, my printer doesn't print white so I need those for this project but I am not sure I know how Roca does that work on the PC, I am a bit "retarded" on computer work, hehehe. Do you guys know anyone that makes custom made decals in case I can't work it out?

Heating sprue isn't that hard. Put it a bit above the candle and turn the sprue so that you don't heat it on one side alone. Don't need much as you've learned. Remove it from the candle before stretching it.

That's the idea.
However not all sprue could be used. So you have to try some.

As I know there is a website http://www.interdecal.com/ that makes custom decals, but is focused for the seller because they make orders of 150 decals or multiples of 150 http://www.interdecal.com/index_eng.php?affich=services/decal_eng.html
Another and the best is Cartograf (who made some decals for Tamiya) http://www.cartograf.com/ I don't know much about it and I'm not sure if they will make only one decal so you might have the same problem as the website above.

Thanks for trying but they both have a minimum so that will not work for me, got to figure it out how to make it.
About the welding on the exhaust pipes, wow, you guys make it sound easy, the sprue technique is very hard, I break the plastic all the time, or it doesn't get thin enough, I run out of sprue, lol. I did try another way, does this looks good enough for a first time for me? Or should I try harder?
I also added the holders for the spring.

Also a few update on some details, got to do some touch up on the front break on the aluminum, got crazy trying to do the brembo writing and the chain with the black little dots for the pins, do you guys have any tricks on how to do very tiny writings? Also I am waiting for some studio detail parts to add some hose clamps, the corrugated hose looks good I think.

The trick with doing the tiny lettering is to use very dilluted paint and a fine tip brush. Dip the brush in paint and just touch one end of a letter, you will see the paint flow through the letter. If you get any outside the letter you can take it away using a fine abrasive paper and then drybrush new paint if the sanding took any away. Drybrushing means you dip the brush in paint but then take most of it off on a paper towel. This way just a tiny amount of paint will remain on the brush and no paint will reach the lettering through capillary action.
Hard to say how the weldings look before you get some primer or paint on. They might look a bit "high".

The center section of body work looks like sculpture with that red paint on it! Your pipes don't look perfect but, it is an improvement over the box pieces.

Thanks.

The sculpture comment was meant to be good. :) In my opinion your pipes look good but, just need cleaned up in a couple areas. I put arrows were a little more smoothing would make your finish a little cleaner.
I tried to Photoshop in some heat stain to see what it would look like but, I don't think it came out correctly.
I am enjoying watching your build and hope to see it continue as it is coming along nicely.
