My friend just did an engine swap in his toyota supra, and is offering to sell his turbo that he doesnt need anymore to me for $200, which is a steal...

I have a 98' Grand Prix SE 3.1L, and i figured you guys are the best and can tell me what parts i would need so get or if it can even work at all... so far all i can think of is piping, turbo manifold, an intercooler, and a good tuning.

Good Luck. I don't think a swap like this is possible unless you can fabricate all your own parts.

There isn't much aftermarket for the 3100 motor, but look at this link if you really want to do forced induction.

But for that price you could probabaly swap in a 3800 Supercharged...

Couple of things. A 3.1 -charged is going to be a short lived beast. It's simply not up to the task in terms of structure....think cranks, piston pins, cams, etc.

To avoid a thermal meltdown you need some development time to ensure you are fueling properly under boost and also have a proper spark table. (how will you accomplish this BTW?) The original NA recipes won't work well IMHO.

As recommended above an L67 is an engine which has been thoroughly thrashed every which way you can think of to make sure it doesn't grenade easily. All the spectacular hardware breakage was done using someone else's budget and you get to reap the rewards of an already-validated package.
