I have this knock sensor engine light come on. I just bought this 97 lude from a guy out of state. I replace 2 used and 1 brand new Knock Sensor and the engine light still come on. And yes i didn't tight that hard. I can't even get this thing smog without getting the light out first.
I have trace the wire from the knock sensor to the ECU, everything work fine. I got continuity all the way. But i didn't replace a new test wire yet. But didnt' think i need too if i got good continuity from the original wire.
What should i do next. I have taking the ground out of the battery to reset the the ECU like 30 times now. Yes, it did go away untill i drive it like 1/2 a mile. That engine light came back on again.
I even borrow a friend computer to check the code and see anything else, but it only show that s*up*d knock sensor code everytime.
Need help fast, can't drive the car without the sticker. By the way, I bought a used engine from a guy around town and he got Skunk 2 Cam Gear on it. Do you think that cause the Knock sensor to fix the timming and it can't? Do you think someone modified the computer? how to check it?

First, if it is still doing it, replace all the knock sensors with new ones. Make sure the cams and timing are set and the cam gear angle is stock until you find the problem. To check the ECU, either take it apart and check for any hand-soldered things on the board or if you're in a big city, bring it to someone who tunes Honda's. They should be able to help you out. Worse come to worst, take it to a legit mechanic and have them check it out.
