Auto start question

I have a 2008 GP. If I leave the defrost on when I turn the car off the night before, it won't run the next morning when I remote start the car. When I stick the key in and turn it to the right so the engine engages then the defrost or heat comes on. Every other Pontiac I have had would run the defrost or heat when I would remote start the car. Just wondering if there is a setting or something I should be looking into.

Odd.... Did you check the owners manual? It may be a feature you can program. I dont know.

Check page 2-7 of the '08 owner's manual. It says something about automatic climate control system (CJ2). Which climate control system do you have?
When it gets cold I guess I will have to test mine.

Yeah I checked the manual and saw that on page 2-7 it says when it's remote started that it "may" start the rear defrost and heat if you have auto climate control. Apparently I dont have that. I dont have the dual climate zones so maybe that's what it means. I just cant figure out why it would have a remote start then. What good is it then basically? I have an 07 G5 GT that will start the heater if it's left on and it doesnt have the dual climate zones...weird.

I have the dual zone automatic climate control system in my GXP and I get heat after remote starting and letting engine sit a while of course up to the initial 10 minutes when the remote start deactivates and then shuts the engine off. Also, I have to have the desired temperature set in.
When I get a chance I'll test it in the manual settings modes like defrost, etc. and see if it holds the settings at remote start.
