I have an '03 lancer with a bad cigarette lighter socket and was wondering how to replace it. Does it come out of the console or does the console/trim have to be removed to replace it?

Thanks

I have the same question on the 02 Mitsubishi Lancer.

I'm not sure if that was help or just spam ,but I didn't see anything similar to what was shown on the video compared to the website, which is a pay service. :disappoin

I like using www.alldata.com (http://www.alldata.com), www.automotiveforums.com (http://www.automotiveforums.com) , www.youtube.com (http://www.youtube.com) search ''How to auto repair'' videos, and google ''Pcode'' , ''cheap auto parts''

Checking in kind of late, but the cigarette lighter on our '04 model stopped working. The faux alumiunum trim on top of the console pops off and then it's like any cigarette lighter - you unhook the wires and unscrew the locking collar from underneath. In our case, it had come a little loose and the resulting play knocked one of the wires off - hooked it back up and voila! But I'm guessing it's the standard size that you can buy at any FLAPS or even Walmart for a couple of bucks...

I hope this helps but I have no idea if your 2003 is the same...
