I've noticed that there have been a lot of new members here. I'd like to say welcome. AF has seen a decline in member activity in the past few years and it's nice to see all the new join dates in here, I want to see this place thrive again. So I think it is appropriate to have an introduction thread.
Tell us about yourself, even if you didn't join for this section.
Just some thinks to think about:
What made you join? Any forum on here in specific?
If you did join for the Car Modeling sub forum (this place), what kind of cars are you interested in and what kind of cars would you like to build?
How long have you been building model cars?
We have members from all over the world, where are you from?
This place is a wealth of information, you will like it here . Spread the word.

I'm a newbie here, so I'll post :)

Here... the Car Modeling forum. I'm mostly into motorsports, but most of the cars I've been working on so far have been street cars (easier to find). I just finished a Tamiya 956, have a Tamiya Carrera GT that's about 3/4 done now, and a Revell McLaren MP4-20 that I keep procrastinating on.
How long have you been building model cars?
I started building model planes when I was about 8 or 9, I think. It was something that dad and I would do together until I got a bit older and could start doing it by myself, then sort of fell out of the hobby. A few years later when I got to high school, I became car crazy and started building model muscle cars... then sort of fell out of it. A few years later after college, I got back into it again, this time mostly building rally cars and Japanese imports... then sort of fell out of it (this time it was called "marriage"). A few months ago while digging around in my closet, I found two half-finished models, called up my mother and asked if my airbrush compressor was still lying around their house, and got back into it AGAIN... this time doing mostly European imports and race cars. A buddy of mine pointed me here to some of the tutorials, and here I am :)

Gastonia, NC.... near Charlotte. Yes I live in the epicenter of NASCAR, and have no interest in it whatsoever. I DO hope I'll get to see the new USF1 though! :D
