Just pricing out FPR and found some cheapos on ebay and I want to know how reliable they really are? Has anyone tried one of these? I plan to do some searching online some more but input would be nice.

I heard the ebay FPRs tend to leak internally. Don't know how true that is, just what I heard. I would use a little better one just to be on the safe side. This is your fuel we're talking about so you really don't want to go cheap. Your call though.

The main complaint I have heard about them is that they dont hold a steady pressure very well. They can vary the pressure according to the temp outside. Also dont get a megan racing FPR either. Its not a 1:1 reg. I would go with the aeromotive unit, so many people use them with great success. It may be more expensive but like Dave said this is your fuel system and it could cost you a motor if that FPR fails.

Whenever I buy one I will be going with the Fuel Lab kit. Looks nice.

This may sound like a stupid question but how important is it to get an aftermarket FPR? I'm going w/ a Walbro 255 rewired so I probably should get one, but how important is it to get one? Here's the one I was eyeing

If you don't want your stock FPR to be overrun, then definately get an aftermarket FPR. As far as I know the only problem you will have with sticking to stock is you will run richer at idle and normal acceleration speeds. WOT shouldn't matter. With a Walbro 190 you can get away with keeping the stock FPR, but a rewired 255, you would want to get one at least to get better gas mileage and not run so rich. As for the ebay brand, my opinion is that anything with moving parts you should buy a decent brand. Anything without moving parts like intakes, filters, FMIC's, it doesn't hurt to go with off brands.
