Just today, my 1998 Tahoe (105,000 miles) has started vibrating during acceleration. Could this be a U-joint issue? Thanks.

It's possible but there are multiple reasons for a vibration in a vehicle.

This one's easy to check. Turn the ignition off and remove the key. With the gear selector in PARK and the PARKING BRAKE fully applied, crawl under the truck and try to rotate the driveshaft.

The PARKING BRAKE is applied to the rear wheels and will not hold the driveshaft.

If the U-joint is causing the vibration, there will be noticeable wear.

some times u joints look ok but if there is a orange dust around them thats rust from under the caps replace them but you could have bad wires, is the weather wet when it does it?

Yes, it was a wet day, but I have never had this problem before regardless of the weather conditions.

Another thing to check is the transmission mount.

start in up and spray water from a spray bottle on the wires it will either begin running rough or you will see a little lighting like light show, then you know but dont touch the wires they can zap you if the engine is running, good wires shouldnt but bad wires will.
