OK...DUMB QUESTION TIME... where the heck is the fuel filter on my moms 99 blazer? i assumed it would be mounted on the inside of the frame rail like it is on my tahoe but its not down there. her fuel filter is overdue for a change. is it in the engine compartment? somewhere else?? also, is it the metal canister type or the pleated paper tpe? what should i look for and where? thanks

It is under the vehicle on the frame rail.I do have one tip,get a 20mm wrench instead of using a 13/16" wrench since it fits better on the fuel filterfitting. It is a metal canister.

its on the driver's side frame rail (look under the driver's door). Its a metal canister held on by a black plastic clamp with fuel lines clipped into the top.

I have a 95 Blazer w/ 4.3L Vortec, and it is inside the frame rail closer to the back on the drivers side, going out to change it right now. What are YOUR Symptoms to change it? Idling a little rough I hope? Runs fine otherwise?

If she is over due for a new filter, I suggest that you go buy a new one from your favorite parts store, this will give you a good visual on what to look for and you will only have to crawl under the truck once.
