Hey guys, I'm new here and pretty new to building models. My name is Jason and I am 18 (almost 19 WOOT!) and my first model must have been when I was 12 or so. Since then I've been gradually getting better building an 80s mustang, 70's something boss, a custom T bird, corvette, the Mach 5, and my 2 most recent a RHD Rx7 and a DC2 integra. I am have a 67 mustang I am building for my fiance thats on hold because I cant get the interior perfect. I will get pictures up when I get back to my models. I am away for college.
ANYWHO.... my spark for building more came after seeing some of the creations on this site. I mean... WOW, you guys ROCK!!
My next projects will be a Honda del Sol, a 350z with one of the body kits (not the veilside) and a supra with a custom body. I'm SO looking forward to putting some of the techniques I learn on here to work. I'm a bit short on cash so the updates wont be soon but I can contribute to the forum.
couple questions:
I've only seen one del Sol on this forum. anyone else put one together?
Could I get a little more info on doing CF parts? I had some extra CF stickers from autozone layin around so I tried covering my integras hood but it didnt work out so well....
Will a hobby lobby have those pieces like making intercoolers and mufflers etc...?
Also I tried working on the weather trim but failed miserably. any pointers?
Thanks guys and I look forward to meeting and learning from the pros :)

I use Micro Kristal Klear for lenses, it can be applied with a fine brush to avoid messes.

I don't use it but I suppose it dries clearer and you probably wipe up any mess before it dries unlike with superglue or poly cement. With those you are screwed.
I use PVA (which is probably similar to wood glue) and am also going to try tamiya clear acrylic which is supposed to be quite good.

Can't help with the others but I've never heard of that CF. I use Scale Motorsport decals with some Microsol and Microset and that usually does the trick. The Microsol helps the decal confirm to irregular surfaces. It's also better to apply the CF to a glossy surface.

I know where to get the CF decal but where do i get the microsol and microset?
and thanks for the tips on the lense glue. I'll hit up a local hobby store sometime.

Welcome aboard. Check out the faq and tutorial section as they should explain pretty much everything you need to know. Good luck.
BTW Isn't 19 early to get engaged? Don't do it. :evillol:
