This is a repost from the TrailBlazer section, I am trying to see if I can get some more advice from people who don't spend alot of time in the TrailBlazer section.
I have a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero 4 cyl. 2.2 lt. Fwd, and I want to get rid of it.
I'd love a full sized truck (http://www.chevroletforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26790#), but can't afford it, and overall I like the TrailBlazer, and it's a little bit cheaper, and around my price range.
However, I know nothing about them, so if some of you could give me your advice, or a heads up on what to expect, pros/ cons, that would be great, or if you have another suggestion.
I am looking for a truck, or suv that I can switch between 4wd, and 2wd, four doors (http://www.chevroletforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26790#), 5+ seating, under 100k and at $200.00 per month, or less from a dealership.

In general, although I own one, they have been troublesome from a reliability stand point, not well rated by any publications, the newer the better. Consume repaorts does not like any of them. Mine has run well, but has had numerous moderate size problems.

If you are short of cash, the Trailblazer is not so bad. As noted above, get the newest one you can afford.
Since they stopped making them 11 months ago, I guess you will be buying used.
Be sure to haggle really hard. These bigger SUV's are very difficult to sell these days, especially for dealers. So, even if they are asking a decent dollar, offer thousands less.... and stick to it!!
Even if you have to leave and come back the next day, stick to offering thousands less then what they are asking. Once a salesman thinks he can get nothing more from you, likely they will cut thousands off the price.... because these things are very, very difficult to sell these days.
Also, don't go for dealer financing. It's often a rip. Get a bank loan if you can.
I think the straight six engine is extremely good, very powerful, with decent mileage. The atomic V8 really is not a big plus in this truck.
Also, check out www.carsurvey.org for lots of useful reviews.
