I just spent a few hours stripping the engine on a 94 olds achieva 2.3L SOHC. All that work for a component located in the side pan of the transmission. I had to remove the transmission mount and its bracket by taking out the power steering pump mounting bracket(not the pump or belt), a few lines and hoses, the master cylinder. after a while I was able to remove the transmission mount and its bracket. Then I had to drop the sub-frame by the side pan just to get the pan out. So i finally get to the TCC solenoid and it's like a 1"x1" component. So I decided GM sucks at engineering cars and I don't wish this problem on anyone.

Ah the 90's. After you did a couple hundred TCC solenoids you could do them pretty quick. The later model GM's still have issues with them and they have not made it any easier. On top of all the items that need to be removed just to get at it you know have to remove (i'm having a brain fart here) a pump thingy (only ten more bolts) and then you can finally pull the solenoid.

yeah everything went back together fine. the tc kicks in as it should, but i'm still getting an engine code. i've had it diagnosed before and it was the o2 sensor not pinging at the ecm. it already had a new sensor so i replaced the the ecm. still get the code. i just want to sell the car for around $1200 b/c i 've got $700 into making it run right. that break even gap is closing!:banghead:
So any idea where the diagnostic harness is?
