Having a problem with fuel delivery

We have a 93 3/4 ton Suburban with a 454. About 4 months ago we had the fuel pump go out so we replaced it with the same type of pump. Holly Inline pump. After we did this it started acting fuel starved and we realized there was a fuel leak, so we replaced the sending unit as well as the lines. The truck ran fine for 2 days and started acting fuel starved again. My husband put a self priming pump in between the holly pump and the tank and that did not help. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Test fuel pressure.
Is the engine carb or tbi fuel injection?
If fuel injection the pump should be in tank and deliver 9-13 lbs fuel pressure.

It is TBI. The holly pump we have puts out enough pressure from what I was told. It is what was on the truck when we bought it, which is why we put the same pump on it. It ran fine until the pump went out. After we replaced it we started having the problems with it acting fuel starved.

The intank oem pump works a lot better.

But put a fuel pressure gauge on it and confirm 9-13 lbs fuel pressure with good volumn.
And always check running fuel pressure running on road.
Post back running fuel pressure.

Has it got any fuel filters on it?

Yes it has fuel filters on it. We just put what was on it back on it because we did not know what kind of alterations they did to the sending unit. Turns out none after we spent nearly 200 bucks for the stupid pump. I have to have my husband put the guage on it and see what the pressure is although that is going to be difficult. he doesn't like to do what he is asked that much.
