problem with A/C

Hello,
I have an Off Road X terra 2005, about 24 000 Mi. I have a problem with my A/C and would like to share this with the group, hopefully someone can help me.
Everytime I change the air flow mode (say from having it directed upon your chest to windshield defrost option) it makes a rattling noise. This noise is usually about 5 secs long. After the noise is gone the air starts comming out as normal, according to the selected mode.
What Can I do about this noise?
Another thing with my A/C is a small whistle like sound upon acceleration. This nomrally happens when accelerating from 0 to 20 MPH. Is this normal?
