a buddy of mine has a 2000 gtp and its got 98,000 on her and he asked me if it would pointless to mod it up because of the millage????? now when he meens mod it out hes talking headers/ new pipes/ hi-flo cat/3.25 pulley/t-stat/ecm/ plugs/wires... I didnt wanna say no i but didnt wanna say yes either.i figured that with the miles on her it might not be a good idea because everything is worn down and he might not get the hp/tq he thinks hes going to get .... thats why im asking you guys

dont know much about modding cars, but 98k on a 2000 is low/average miles. gp's run forever, of course by modding it you will considerably shorten its life, but still....

Not too many miles. The GTP engine is dependable and you can do some mild mods that won't hurt the drivability nor the engine. CAI, Headers, High Flow Cat, smaller pulley and a reprogrammed PCM will work just fine and shouldn't hurt the car in any way.

X2
mods will not "hurt" the reliability of the motor as long as you have the proper supporting mods. the 3800 is a VERY reliable motor, and with 98K on the motor...that thing is just broken in.
