ok so i found the problem as to why my car wasnt starting..i believe there was a short somewhere in the ignition wire...now there is a disconnect between the ignition wire and the wire leading to the terminal on the starter under the hood.....i unplugged it and the wire leading down to the starter (under the intake manifold) i attached a wire to that and touched it to the 12v ..now i heared the starter engage and "Click click click click"...but my battery was dead.....if i turn my key inside the car to "run" and if my battery was charged....is it safe to go ahead and try to start the car this way again? so i know for sure its the ignition wire...and if it does start..how would i turn it off..lol..turn the key off?

(ive already pulled out the starter and bench tested it and it was fine)

Aslong as the car is in park/neutral then yes that is safe, and the engine will shut off with the key.
