Can this be replaced in car? I was told it's a rope type seal and the upper part is tough to get out without pulling the engine. Will chinese fingers work? It's an 83 with a 307. Thanks. :lol2:

yeah it can be done w/engine in you may need to disconnect mounts.the top rope seal can be a bitch but had luck with chin.fingers
BTW are you sure its not leaking from above??

Watch the rear of the intake leaking on these, if it is the rear main you must loosen the mains to lower the crank slightly.
