AS the title to the thread states, the car will continue to roll in park. I undid the shift cable and turned the shift shaft manually. There is the expected louder CLICK when shifting into park, but it stills rolls. Thankfully the E-brake works!!!!! Any ideas? I've never torn into this type of tranny before, so I have no idea how bad it would be to change the part if it is indeed broken. I've owned many Mopar's none being newer like this for a build, and this will be the first car I've ever seen actually break that part. Hell, I've seen guys slam a car in park at 45mph and not break the tranny!!! Driveshaft .... YES .. Tranny ... No!! Any suggestions other than "Switch to a MTX" (LOL) would be appreciated.
I was gonna strip the car and get it ready for paint ..... now I've decided to make it a daily driver. :) (for now)

it indeed sound like the park ring is broken you could drop the trans oil pan and see if there or any chunks of stuff in there. ive never seen one break on any car or truck but shit happens if there are no other problems with the trans i would just use the parking break ive never had one apart only rear wheel drives for me but i know if you dont know what you are doing you can cause more problems and it reqires special tools

I'm going to change the fluid and filter and will check to see if something did indeed break. After looking at an exploded view of the trans, I can see a few weak parts that I would suspect at this point. There is a park rod in there that is only held in place by a circlip. I think that's the first thing I'll be looking at. It's very easy to see when the pan is off and HOPEFULLY will be the problem. I too have rebuilt many transmissions but again, I haven't done a transaxle like this. :)
