99 (classic body style) rear cargo cover

I utilize the retractable rear cargo cover daily. When hauling a larger load I removed the cover. When setting it on the floor the spring sprung and it now does not retract back in itself. I have searched but cannot find if it is repairable or not. It appears the one end is not allowing itself to condense allowing me to install. Anyone have any pointers?

While i do have the cover your talking about in my yukon, i havent had the chance to take it apart. But in my experiance fixing other covers if your remove the side that seems to be sprung and rewind the spring you may be able to get it working again. Just be careful as those springs are dangerous. It may take a few trys.
