GSR's are turbocharged, right? I've heard that they are, but some people say they aren't. I'm considering buying a used GSR, but I'm worried about the reliability of a used turbocharged car.

Thanks for the help. Carpoint has all their stuff messed up. It says the GS-R is turbocharged and the Celica All-Trac Turbo isn't. By the way, welcome to AF GS-Rocket.

yaknow, i dunno though i think i am more leaning towards a gsr.... i plan on lowering it, CAI, header, and exhaust....and maybe a supercharger or turbo...which one u think would be a better choice, with less hassle and easier to use......or i might go with a prelude....im clueless on which to choose...please help me out with all the info u can give:D

and what year is the second pic, the sliver one above my reply????thats a nice ass car....if i got a prelude, thats what i would want it to look like.......and what is the kit on it.....

fierce

If your looking to get into the 12-13 seconds, dont even bother with a prelude.. from everything i have read it takes a LOT of work to get a lude that quick..ludes are really fat

Im not sure what year that 2nd one is.. its a 4th gen so its between 1992 and 1996(i think they started in 92, mabye 93)

I'll beat any prelude in a stock GSR... in fact I did when my car was stock.

:D NICE:D
i think im gonna go with like a 94, 95 gsr....i am goin to spend like 8-10k on it, u think i can get a nice one???and what should i do with it?? i was planning on cold air intake, header, cam gears or whatever they are(im new at all this) and exhaust....and lower it like 2 inches....i am thinking about adding a supercharger in that...or a turbo...which one u think would be better??? and u think if i do all this will it be worth it?
thanks

I'd say go with the GSR
Even though preludes are quicker, and look nice
you can do just as much to a GSR to make it as quick as a prelude.

Plus, if you want the skinny headlights like the 4th gen lude,
go with the JDM conversion!

And i read earlier posts about turbocharged gsrs
sure, they come turbo, if you buy them with turbo!:p

Also, finding a lude with low mileage is pretty hard nowadays!

To all of you GS-R Lovers...you guys are the greatest I am perhaps one of the biggest myself...I have beaten plenty of VTEC Preludes in mine before I did all of my stuff....if you want to see what I have done go to this page

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?postid=158977&t=6084#post158977

that is another thread on like what type of integra do you have...I love my GS-R and wouldn't trade it for the world...even though it isn't really one anymore lol

i never lost to a prelude yet.

i have a stock 95gsr and i raced plenty of 4th and 5th gen preludes. stick and auto. and i havent lost to one yet. sure preludes got more torque, but they are heavy cows, they would beat a gsr in the long run on the highway, but come from a straight line ill spank em. stock for stock
