OEM Alarm System

I just purchased an OEM Keyless Alarm system that includes the wireless receiver and two VW OEM keyless remotes.

It states on the page that the alarm computer thing is located behind the light switch. I don't know how to remove the light switch. Anybody know how? I tried using a flat-head screwdriver to remove it and I could get the right side loose but the left side next to the airbag light won't budge.

It's a 1996 Jetta GL with a non-keyless OEM alarm system.

Thanks in advance!!

remove the airbag light panel and there is a tab on that side of the light switch that needs to be held/pushed into the switch while sliding it out.

Its in the upper left of the switch. use the same flat blade you used to remove the airbag panel.

Is it normal for the airbag light panel to get tight when pulling out? It seems to pull put right outside of the housing but I can't access the wires behind to unplug the airbag light.

Okay, so I went out and yanked on the airbag light panel and the panel came off but the light stayed behind. Now it fell down and I can't really get to it.

So I got the light switch somewhat out, I can't release the cords in the back. And the black box I see in the background must be the alarm system, correct?

Alright, well I got both parts off, how do I go about removing the alarm console? It's way in there and screwed in horizontally
