Here is one I did as a break from the rally cars, and a quick build.
I used Alclad gloss aluminum for the frame and Tamiya Telefonica blue for the covers and fairings.
The kit is another 1/24 Airfix kit, so it comes out the box pretty basic, but they are great fun to build and can still be made to look really good with a little effort.
I hope you like :)

And here is one of my 2 1/24 bikes together, the Team Antena 3 Yamaha and the Telefonica Suzuki:

Thanks a lot! That pic actually misrepresents the size since the Pug is a small car to begin with... ;) I'd love to get one! :)

WHOA, I just got this kit about a week ag as a gift, and I'm really happy seeing it completed! How was the build? Any tricky parts I should look out for? Have you built the honda 500cc one?

I built the Honda500cc and it was great. I could'nt decide weather I should do it red w/ black rims or black w/ black rims. You already know what color MY suzuki is gonna be

Great job!!! :)

Looks great, Ray. I have a question, though - how did you manage to put those side decals on the Suzuki on? On mine they were waaaaaay off and I was unable to put them on satisfactorily (so far)

And on a side note, a 1/24 kit of Honda NSR500 will be one of the prizes in the ITR competition ;)

You sure did a nice job Ray!
Respect!

I m making the Yamaha 1/24th now, and found some little and easy detail "tricks".

Like putting Carbon -fibre on the exhaust,
Making a bit of heat -effect on the pipes using clear blue and clear orange paints alternatively.
And finally creating your own coil-over spring (see tutorial made by RallyRaider).
Also I have tried something new; using my gundam-type pen-marker to create the illusion of having drilled disc brakes.

These are just some pointers in case somebody would like to put some extra detail in his - hers bike.

But as the paint is concerned, nobody would do better then what you did ray!

Cheers, Olivier

Does anyone know an online store (preferably in Canada) where they sell these little bikes?

Thanks!

All very well Olivier, but the Suzuki doesn't have drilled disks, even on the real bike, so that would be incorrect to do on this one.
C/F decal is too large in scale for the small area of the exhaust, I did consider doing this, but you would have to use 1/43 C/F pattern for it to look correct on this size bike.

Alex,
I didn't have a problem with the decals, if anything they were better than the ones on the Yamaha, aside from being thin though.
I definitely think the decals in the Suzuki kit were less translucent than those on the Yamaha, and aside from requiring a little maneuvering to get into the right position(due to the thickness, this requires a lot of water under the decal), they went on fine.
I think there are varying qualities of decals though in the kits, some seem more transparent, and some seem to fit better.

Thanks Chain :)

Thanks, the Team Pons Honda does interest me, the Tech 3 Yamaha not so much.

Olivier/Ray

Where did you get the news on the new bikes? I was unable to find anything on the heller site

I'd like a Marlboro Yamaha and now a camel 4-stroke Honda.

To be honest, I only know of them because Olivier mentioned them, perhaps he could shed some light on the source (I seriously would like to get the Honda Pons NSR).

Well, it kinda struck me too to see those bikes, when I went to a store in my City. I looked around to choose myself a model car, and I saw, next to the 1/43th Heller cars, little boxes with those bikes in it.

They were only at 5.60€, so I bought them, and checked on the Heller site, but nothing could be found there.

So now, I plan to do these bikes, but do them very well, like ray did, and make the whole collection of those bikes.

And yes, ales, I would like to have the Biaggi desperately too...

Maybe this could be the start of some "business" by the custom decal makers amongst us to make "cheap" and diverse decal sheets??

If you guys want it, I could take some pics of them.?

:) Olivier
