What is an 85 Caprice with 70K Worth

Need some advice on what members here think she is worth; ‘85 Caprice which belonged to my mother who has not driven the car in 7-yrs. I personally drive the car every month to keep the fluids circulated & use a battery maintainer to keep the battery fresh. This is a one owner, non-smoker car with 5.0 L V-8 & 75K original miles, never been in any type of accident. Interior/carpet/vinyl roof are all perfect (like new) no spots or stains. There is no rust anywhere on the car, never driven in snow, or ice and very little rain.
This is a southern car and was parked under a carport since new. The rear of the car was exposed to the sun and has slight rear paint fading and urethane bumper filler (ends) damage. Had a car cover on it for the last 5-yrs. The rest of the paint looks like it did in 1985! The gas tank has never been below ½ tank and kept full since new, especially when parked for any duration. A/C and all accessories work, except the radio (which did not work when the car was new) this was no problem for her, because she never listened to the radio anyway. (It could be just a loose wire, not sure) The car still rides & drives like it did when new. All maintenance records show regular service @ 3K intervals. No smoke & no rattles! A few small issues like the headliner & fan belts will be replaced before selling!

Is it a 2-Door or 4-Door?
EDIT: Also, does it have power windows and power locks? Do you have any photos that you could post?

It's a 4-door with power windows, door locks & 6-way power seat, everything works. I will post pics later, too tired today. BTW, the car is a medium gold/beige with matching vinyl roof.

I used Kelly Blue Book online for an '89 caprice with those options in excellent condition and I couldn't get it near 2,000$. It stated it is worth about 1300$ if selling to another person.
However, I think that if you wait long enough and perhaps look out for people who are into these cars in your area you can get over 2000$. I voted 2500$ because that was the lowest option.
Just my two cents. -- Good luck.
BTW if I had the money I would probably pay no more than 1500$ (but it'll help to see the photos later).

i paid $2900 for my 84 2 years ago with 43k. looking on craigslist now you find some low mileage around 70k and up for 1500-2000. it depends on who's interested. i opted to spend more up front because it was in great condition and didn't want a less expensive one which would need a lot of attention.

Bo, why didn't you have Chris compose the poll for you? You know the job he does on those.

Have you considered putting it on eBay to see what it could fetch? You could have a reserve price and if the bids don.t get that high, you don't have to sell it there and it will give you an idea of what some may be willing to pay for it. Someone told me a long time ago that a vehicle is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, irregardless of "book value".

I think it would be a good buy for $2500.
Might go for more if put on EBAY.
Try it out and see what the market will bear..

I see a few of these cars going for the $2000-$3000 range here in the metro Phoenix, AZ area on sites such as Craigslist. If it's in the shape you claim, you should have no problem getting that. Remember, it's not necessarily what KBB tells you that you should sell your car for, it's what the market will bear.
I once had an offer for the car you see in my sig, for $5,000. I turned it down, perhaps I am crazy but it's the best car I've ever had and I've had more than a few in my day. :)

Time for a few pics. These are phone pics, so not the best quality. EDIT UPDATE INFO:
This car has never had any food or drinks of any kind on the inside, only a few groceries in trunk which were removed as soon as it got home! Transmission shift perfect & no leaks from engine or trans! I drove the car yesterday and the original shocks are firm as they were new. Engine idles as smooth as it did new & tires & brakes are excellent! This car is perfect!

Wow. That looks brand new. I think you can easily get more than 2,000$ or even 2,500$. If I could change my vote on the poll I would.
Very nice.
