Will not start.

Changed the steering column out of a 2000 sunfire, started once then died. Will not atsrt again. Someone help.

the light is on

You need to do the password relearn procedure. With the key ON wait about 10 mins till the light goes off. The turn the key OFF and crank it. You might have to repeat that 3 times until the passcode is learned.

i reset the passcode, it will fire up then shuts off every time
