well, just after i installed remote start system in my sunfire(wich did not work in case you wondered) i drove the car for a while (few days) everything was just...working fine, then i got on a vacation for 5 days and when i got back my car wont start.
i started out checking if there was a spark, there was
then i checked if the fuel pump was running, it made sound and seemed to do its job.
then i checked if any gas was coming to the fuel rail, there was none.
so i guessed the fuel(uhhmm whats the word, the thing that takes dirt out of the gas) was dead, but no gas was running from there
and of course since no gas was coming from the tank i decided to take the fuel pump out of tank and check it out, it seems fine but just to be sure i sent it to repair to check the pressure and....everything is fine.
so my question is, since the fuel pump is working and all lines seems to be clear all the way to injectors, what the HELL can be the problem..
all help is good so fire away guess and help me
and ohh yes im in iceland so getting parts is not so easy since only three sunfire 00 are here and 1 cavalier:mad:
and yes.....the remote start is from autostart and its name is "autostart as-1200" if anyone has a diagram for tha sunfire side:runaround:

I would try to blow compressed air from the fuel rail to the line where it connects to the front of the fuel filter (disconnect the fuel filter so if there is something in the line it doesn't stick in the fuel filter and then get stuck in the line again)If the pump is good, then you should blow something out of the line. The fuel pump is a somewhat common failure, I'd suspect it even though the repair place said it was good. You can test it yourself, just connect a hose to the pressure line (the bigger of the connections on top) and run it into a bottle. If you get gas into the bottle, you should be getting gas at the fuel rail. Maybe not pressure, but at least liquid.
Also incase you didn't know, the fuel pump only runs for 2 seconds when the key is first turned on and then while the engine is cranking. So if you're turning the key on and then going back to check, the pump will have shut off already.

but about the theft system
my autostart, cranks the motor and it runs for about 2 seconds and then dies.
is there sopme kind of theft system that cuts the fuel if the key is not in the ignition?
how can i bypass this so the motor keeps on running

There is a theft system. To bypass it, remove the cover from the bottom of the steering column. There are 3 small wires going into the lock cylinder. Cut the yellow and black ones and install a 3-6 ohm resistor between them. To "teach" the PCM the new resistance do the following:
1. Crank the engine for a couple seconds and release the key to "on".
2. Leave the key in the "on" position for approximately 10 minutes.
3. The theft light will be on for this time, and then go off. Once it goes off turn the key to off.
4. Leave the key off for 5 seconds, then turn it back to "on"
5. Repeat steps 2-4 two times, for a total waiting time of about 30 minutes.
6. After the third waiting period, turn the key off and then start the engine. It should start this time, if not, repeat the process. If you have to repeat it, you can crank it in step 4, that way if the first or second period was the failed one, you can save 10 or 20 minutes. The reason I don't crank it in step 4 is just to be easier on the battery, the service manual says to crank it, but it's never made a difference for me.

well well well
it worked, like a charm.
but, now i have a "theft system" and a "service light" in my dash wich i just....dont like?
why are those light suddenly on and how can i make them go away:eek7:
and one more question?
is there any way i can disable the passenger side air bag without geting the :smile:air bag light in the dash?
i have a small child now and it would help me if he could be next to me when driving so i can see his face if something is bothering him
